Flower delivery in Dorking

We love to deliver flowers to Dorking in Surrey. Here we list our favourite things to do in this charming town. Plus some suggestions for bouquets to send – some named after villages on Dorking's doorstep!

A countryside idyll south of London

Less than an hour's drive from central London, the market town of Dorking lies in the delightfully-named Mole Valley. Surrounded by the beautiful Surrey Hills, it offers a relaxed pace of life. So choose to chill out on your day out, and take a look around this bewitching town.

Some retail therapy?

St Martin's Walk has a real mix of indie shops, High Street names, plus an outdoor café for some tasty treats. On Fridays, it hosts Dorking's weekly market which offers artisan goods, fruit and vegetables, cheeses, farm goods and more. If you like antiquing, head to West Street. Said to be the oldest street in Dorking, it's packed with antique shops. Not to mention some lovely pubs!

Secret smuggling

On first glance, Dorking looks as innocent as can be. But underneath its streets run a network of tunnels known as the Dorking Caves. They were first hollowed out in the 17th century for storage. But then became rather useful for smuggling illegal contraband, and then were used as bomb shelters in World War II. In the summer months, Dorking Museum and Heritage Centre offers tours around this hidden world. But they sell out quickly, so don't dally!

Raise a toast

Love your wine? Don't miss out a tour one of England's largest single estate vineyards. Yes, under the Surrey sunshine, the Denbies Wine Estate produces award-winning and sustainable wines. Cheers to that!

Walk off that Sunday roast

If your idea of heaven is a country walk followed by a hearty lunch, Dorking is the perfect spot. There are lots of gastropubs in the town, and a huge choice of walks in the surrounding area. These include the Surrey Hills Circular and the North Downs Way. There are lots of bike routes too.

Box Hill is a wonderful place to enjoy nature. There's even a section of stepping stones! This National Trust site offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Make sure to pack the binoculars, as it's great for birdwatching too.

Flower arrangements with a hint of Dorking

Need some inspo as to what flowers to send to a resident of Dorking? Our virtual flower shop offers some beautiful designs, including:

Quintessentially English

One of our bouquets is inspired by the epitome of a nearby English village: Abinger Common. Just five miles south-west of Dorking, it has a village green, pub and even a croquet lawn in the summer!

The bouquet includes fragrant white stock, pink lilies, ammi – the cultivated variety of Queen Anne's lace you see in hedgerows – and 'Sweet Avalanche' roses:

From Surrey's woodlands to Hollywood

Did you know that Emily 'Mary Poppins' Blunt was discovered by an agent when attending sixth form near Dorking? Or that the picnic scene in Anya Taylor-Joy's Emma was filmed at the top of Box Hill? Fancy that!

We're sure both actors would love to receive this bouquet packed with carnations, roses and hypericum:

Brockham beauty

Just to the east of Dorking is the pretty village of Brockham. It has a real community feel with a famous Bonfire Night celebration every year. In our bouquet, we blend three types of red roses to create some floral fireworks of our own:
